Florida Man Steals Ambulance, Finishes Beer Before Arrest

In a bizarre incident in Florida, a man identified as Sean Michael Brading was arrested after stealing an ambulance and finishing a beer before being apprehended, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The event unfolded on March 16, 2025, when Brading, a 35-year-old resident of Cocoa, reportedly commandeered the emergency vehicle from a hospital in Brevard County.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the theft occurred around 1:30 p.m. when Brading, who had been treated at the hospital for a previous incident, decided to make his escape in the ambulance. Witnesses were stunned as they watched the vehicle, sirens blaring, speed away from the hospital. Troopers quickly initiated a pursuit, which led them on a chase through several streets before Brading eventually stopped the ambulance.

What added to the unusual nature of the incident was Brading's decision to finish a beer he had in the ambulance before surrendering to the authorities. Upon his arrest, Brading was charged with grand theft of an emergency medical vehicle, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and driving under the influence. The Florida Highway Patrol emphasized the seriousness of the crime, noting that stealing an emergency vehicle not only endangers the public but also hinders emergency services.

The stolen ambulance was safely returned to service after being inspected for any damages. Local residents expressed relief that no one was injured during the incident, though many were left shaking their heads at the audacity of the theft. Brading is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
