Trump Defends Tariffs Amid Republican Backlash

President Donald Trump has staunchly defended his tariff policies amidst growing criticism from within his own party. In a series of statements, Trump pushed back against what he called 'rebel Republicans,' asserting that his approach to tariffs is unmatched. 'You don't negotiate like I negotiate,' Trump declared, emphasizing his belief that his strategies would ultimately benefit the U.S. economy.

The President's comments come as some House Republicans express concerns that the tariffs could negatively impact their chances in upcoming midterm elections. Despite these worries, Trump remains confident, suggesting that his tariff policies will help Republicans in the midterms by showcasing a strong stance on trade.

Critics, however, argue that the tariffs are causing economic 'carnage.' Reports indicate that the policies have led to increased costs for businesses and consumers, prompting backlash from various sectors. Trump, undeterred, insists he knows 'what the hell I'm doing,' maintaining that his approach will lead to better trade deals and a stronger economy in the long run.
